Our weeks in Vegas are coming to a close, but we hope to keep some of the fun memories we've made while we've been here. One "fun" thing is our fridge. It is extremely loud. The first nights we were here, it was especially noticable. It reminds me of my Grandpa C's old farm bike, only his bike didn't make a metal on metal sound when he turned it off. The fridge does.
When we were on the Strip the first day, there were many people dressed up like characters from movies or celebrities, asking for tips to have their picture taken with you. One of them was Edward Scissorhands. He looked completely real and when a lady passed by him he clinked his scissor fingers together above her head. Creepy. A couple nights later when Michael was gone for his night shift, I had a dream about Edward Scissorhands and I could actually HEAR the noise his scissor fingers made when they scraped on each other! I was startled awake, but quickly realized the noise was actually just the fridge. That's how awesome this fridge is. :)
Darwin loves bananas! "Nana!" and "Mo'!" are the two words he can say and actually mean something (besides Mama and Dada), and we are excited about it, so we try to feed him "Nanas" every chance we get. Michael has trouble with bananas, though. It makes me laugh every time. It's like the sword in the stone--I don't have as much trouble with bananas even though he's so much stronger than me. Ha. :) Over the years, several people have tried to teach Michael different methods on opening bananas, but he ends up just "pulling so hard that the top just pops off."
While I was in the store with Darwin a few days ago, bananas were on my list. I picked up my other items first and then headed to the banana table. Darwin helped me pick them out and once they were chosen he would NOT let them out of his sight. He turned around in the cart to see and reach for them. I decided he could hold them and that would be okay, but instead of just holding them, he tried to EAT them, peel and all! That is how much this kid loves his bananas. He cried then when I put them back in the cart and he intensely watched them go from the conveyor belt to the scanner to the grocery bag. He's not messin' around!

The people we are renting from let us play in their awesome backyard, complete with a trampoline and baby airplane swing! Darwin especially loves the trampoline. He used to just crawl around the edge and I could walk around with him, but then one day I put him on and he zooooooomed straight over to the opposite side, so I had to run around fast to make sure he didn't jump off! What a crazy! He thought it was a game, so right before he got to the other side where I had ran to catch him, he turned around and headed another, far away direction, as if we were playing "Tag" and I was "It." Luckily, I am just a hair faster than him. Now I hang out with him ON the tramp.
Darwin loves being chased by Daddy!
Remember the shoe pictures (click) from before? Just for fun.
He loves splashing!
DO NOT CROSS! CRIME SCENE!
Isn't that what it looks like? In reality, Michael just passed out on the floor from exhaustion. He woke up to Darwin knocking on his head with wooden letter blocks. The whole scene made me think of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, where the Oompa Loompas knock on Violet to find out if she's "a good nut or a bad nut."

You got those teeth too, huh? I am glad our kids like to brush their teeth (and they seem to have Andy's genes too.) Hygiene is important.
How much longer are you there? What are you doing for Thanksgiving?
Yay! You're done!!! I'm so glad for the sake of Michael's sleeping habits. And Michael with his banana problem for some reason doesn't surprise me, but cracks me up all the same.
Love those cute cheeks and big blue eyes. My friend says to open the banana from the other end like "real'
monkeys do. When is New Year's?? how soon til we get to see him!?? And you guys too, of course.
I love this post! Good thing Michael has a noggen that can take some waking up via wood blocks. Scooter fed our fish today, so if they can die from overeating, you will definitely have some floaters tomorrow.
