Sledding in Oregon

A couple weeks ago, we headed down for a weekend with Richard & Amber and the boys. We had so much fun going sledding with them! It was Darwin's first time, and one of the first times for the other kiddos, too (if not THE first). Darwin was doing pretty good until his second official run down the hill (see filmstrip to the left--the one that says, "CRASH!" in bold letters in the center). After that, everytime anyone yelped or even laughed too loud as they were tobogganing down the hill, he started crying, sure they were about to meet their doom the same way he had in the tree well. It was kind of cute. Made you want to go sled just to know he cared about you. :)

We had some "delectible" PB & J, made by Rich, before we bundled everyone up to go out. Getting everyone warm enough to sled probably took as long as the actual sledding. Just another thing that changes with kids. Oh, the joys. :) It really is so fun with the little guys! As you may be able to tell in the photos below, they were eager to get out of the car (on the bottom right), but afterwards, they all crashed in five minutes or less of driving away. They had plenty of energy to take a fun (and SOAKING WET!) bath when we got home, though. :)
Thanks, Richard, for driving the whole way there and back. We had a blast! Let's go again!!

We took a detour on our way home to see our good friends Kelly and Sally. It was so SO good to see them and their cutie-pie kids! Kelly, like Richard, is quite the chef! He made us lunch--parmesan chicken. Even better than the grub was the company. We are lucky to have such wonderful friends and family where we can feel at ease. Thanks for having us!
