To Those Who Have Rented a Moving Truck . . .
We are trying to figure out what size of moving truck to get. We have a one bedroom apartment, with two short dressers, one couch, small desk (could be unassembled), tv, tv stand, kitchen table and chairs, and a big chair. (If it sounds familiar, we are hoping to hear from YOU!) :) Those are all of the big items, I think, plus the boxes of stuff that we will have. So, here is my question. We MIGHT also have a washer and dryer to load up. Should we get a 10, a 14, a 16?? If anyone has any tips, that would be great. Thanks!

We've moved a few times:) I would go for a 14 footer and stack it all. It should all fit and it should be cheaper then a 16 footer.

When we moved to Texas we used a moving company (I know it sounds expensive, but we priced it out and it turned out to be about the same as getting a Uhaul, when you consider gas prices and all) anyways, they drop a semi off at your apartment, you load it up, they drive it to where ever for you, then you unload it and they come get the semi. You pay for how much room you use, so if you are a good packer...We only used 8 ft, and we had a two bedroom apartment and a ton of baby stuff. So that's an option. The company is called ABF you can find them online. :)

10 footer only! Seriously, we've moved so often I feel like we should just buy a moving truck. We rented a 10 footer when moving from Wymount to Idaho Falls. It was very tight, and our car was full, but it was fine. We didn't have a chair, but we had everything else you had plus another full-size bed and box springs.
You'd definately be safe with a 14 footer, if you're nervous about it. Also, we try to avoid U-Haul if we can, it seems that Budget does a better job of taking care of their customers, plus they are a little cheaper, usually.
